29 Row Houses Completed

29 Row Houses Completed

I just finished my Row Houses for the swap Im running over on my swap group; trouble is I only need 3 for the swap…*oops*

Yesterday I blogged what they looked like prior to my finishing them with painted tape backgrounds, you can see them on the following link if you want a quick recap: https://lostmusejournals.wordpress.com/2012/02/27/row-houses-work-in-progress/

Below is a gallery of my completed Row Houses; if you wanna see close ups just click on the thumbnails to browse the gallery:

After I finished adding colour to my row houses I noticed my drop sheet which I used for working on had some interesting colour patterns and shapes, it seemed a shame to waste it so I decided to incorporate it and use it as the base for a doodle style painting.

I had a lot of fun playing with the random shapes and colours, the entire doodle is A3 in size with lots of metallic sheens, I love how free-ing it is to work in this way and not worry about how it looks and just concentrate on how it feels to me.

You can take a peek at it below:

I am in the middle of making some Row Houses for a swap on my new swap group on Facebook Mixed Media Misfits, the url for the group is: http://www.facebook.com/groups/mixedmediamisfits/

I started my row houses by cutting out house shapes from food packaging which I have been saving up, I bought some dry wall tape cheap from a discount store and was eager to use that so I used it to embellish the row houses to give them a texture.

They arent finished yet but I thought Id share with you the photos of what they look like at this moment in time as they are drying; I added a base colour using acrylic paint last night and today added highlights by finger painting on metallic acrylic paints in various colours:
